A classic beef cheeseburger with Emmental cheese and a special sauce.
500 g minced beef
8 slices Emmental cheese
4 burger buns
1 small tomato
4 iceberg lettuce leaves
200 g mayonnaise
20 g green pepper
2 tbsp ketchup
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground cumin
First, make the sauce by blending all its ingredients thoroughly. Slice the tomato into thin rounds and cut the iceberg lettuce into broad strips.
Divide the minced beef into four portions. Shape into thin patties with a diameter larger than the burger buns.
Cut the burger buns in half. Toast in the oven using top heat or under the grill at 210°C for 2–3 minutes, until golden.
Cook the burgers in an oiled frying pan for 4–5 minutes on each side. Half a minute before removing them from the pan, top each with a slice of Emmental cheese.
Spread sauce over both halves of each toasted bun and add Emmental cheese.
Place the cooked burger on top. Add the tomato and iceberg lettuce, then close with the top half of the bun.
Press down gently and serve.
